Picking an Effective, Professional Carpet Cleaner

If you have decided to hire a professional to take care of your carpet cleaning for you, it may be hard for you to make a decision on who you want to use. There are so many carpet cleaning companies out there today, depending on where you live, that it can be hard to choose who you want to use. Try these tips to help you find an effective, professional carpet cleaner that you will be well satisfied with.

Some professional cleaning services offer you choices in the method that you want them to use, and there are many to pick from, some more effective than others. By learning more about the methods that professional carpet cleaners use, you will be better able to make a decision for your own carpet cleaning needs.

One of the more common carpet cleaning methods is called dry extraction, where a chemical cleaning compound will be sprinkled onto the carpets to help loosen up dirt and stains, and then after a time, vacuumed up using a powerful vacuum.

The dry foam method is done by spraying the foam directly onto the carpet, and then using a wet vacuum to suck it, and any dirt and debris up. The vacuum is just as important as the foam. If the vacuum doesn’t have enough power to get everything off of the floor, then you are wasting your time and money.

When you have taken the time to learn about the other options that may be available to you, you should next as around for some references. Start with your friends, coworkers, and family members, and see if they have used any of the local companies in the area, and what their opinions of them were.

Most professionals will be more than happy to give you an estimate of how much they would charge to do your carpets, and it may be a good idea to get several, so you can compare them. Don’t forget to ask what is covered in the quoted price, and find out what extra services are offered, and how much they cost as well. You may also want to ask what types of chemicals are used, how long it usually takes to complete the job, and if any furniture will be moved. In some cases, you may be charged extra for this.

It is important to ask about chemicals, so that you can make certain nothing harmful will be introduced into your home, especially if you have pets or children who spend a lot of time on the carpet. It is a good idea to let the cleaner know what kind of carpet you have in your home, so that they will know what they can and can’t do. Not all commercial cleaning products are safe for every type of carpet.

It is a good idea to do a background check on the company, or at least check with the Better Business Bureau, since you will be letting these people into your home. This is an important step, just for safety’s sake, and your peace of mind.
